Complete GST Audits of assigned clients of Mumbai and Pune. This will include planning, resource deployment, interaction with clients, escalation & resolution of audit issues & queries, travel to client locations within & outside Mumbai, preparing the working papers, Audit Reports & Annexures & maintaining the Audit files & Database.
Assign tasks to the Sr. Executives, Executives and Articles & others assigned to IDT to complete Audits & other IDT assignments, including MIS reports of the IDT team. Also guide & supervise them.
IDT Advisory & Reviews:
Plan and execute IDT advisory work & reviews pertaining to GST & other Indirect Taxes assigned by Practice Head & other superiors. This will include compilation of required details, in-depth analysis of the facts, interpretation of law and Case Law research, evaluating the tax positions adopted by clients & guidance to team members.
IDT Litigation Support:
Assist Practice Head in providing litigation support to clients in respect of disputes pertaining to GST & other Indirect Taxes. This will include drafting of replies to notices, queries & memos issued by the authorities, appeals to 1st & 2nd appellate authorities, representations & appearance before quasi -judicial authorities on behalf of clients.
IDT Compliance Assistance:
Provide compliance support to assigned clients under GST and other Indirect Tax Laws. This will involve obtaining & compiling the required details, verification and validation of tax & other computations & workings provided by the client, filing of all returns online & manually, broad review of the returns filed by the clients & identification of corrective steps to be advised.
Assist the Practice Head & Firm in achieving targets, conducting IDT seminars & workshops, drafting newsletters, budget bulletins, presentations, legal briefs and in other assigned projects.
Required Candidate profileMinimum 8 years of experience in handling VAT/ Excise/ Service Tax assessment & IDT related litigation for Limited Companies at the level of Assistant Manager/ Dy. Manager or equivalent & 2 years of experience in handling GST related compliance and assessment, in the manufacturing or service sectors with an annual turnover of at least Rs.500 Cr; or
Minimum 8 years of experience, in CA Firms of high repute or Big 4 Audit Firms at the level of Assistant Manager/Dy. Manager or equivalent, with responsibility for IDT audits, reviews, advisory, litigation support & IDT compliance, including 2 years of GST audits, reviews & advisory for Limited Companies with an annual turnover of at least Rs.500 Cr.
Required Skill Set:
1) Possess in-depth knowledge of VAT/ Service Tax/ GST laws & procedures. Working knowledge of Customs & FTP laws & procedures and issues is desirable.
2) Excellent verbal & written communication skills, analytical abilities, client handling skills & must be capable of preparing & delivering sales pitches independently.
3) Fully familiar with Guidelines of ICAI for conducting VAT & GST Audits.
4) Hands on experience in Excel/ Word/ PPT/ Tally/ SAP/ Oracle/ other ERP Systems
5) Data Analysis & interpretation Skills
6) Familiarity with manufacturing & service sectors preferred.
